Global Relay 5/19

All 2nd grade students had a Global Relay Lecture. Mr. Shimazu gave the lecture. He had a lot of knowledge about historical buildings around the world. First, he explained about the scale of historical buildings such as the Pyramid of King Khufu, the Sphinx, and Appia Road. He also explained about Japanese historical buildings such as the Big Grave of Emperor Nintoku and Osaka Castle which is equivalent to historical buildings around the world. He also told us about his experience with building the Basra Canal Bridge, the Matadi Bridge, and the Posphorus 2nd Bridge. After that, he told us how to study English and what books we should read. Finally, he said to us, “Don’t forget the good points about Japan and about the importance of self-respect being a Japanese citizen. We have to respect own country before we can respect foreign countries.”
